How the pairing process works

Pairing links one specific phone with one specific username via a unique, single-use email link. Here's how to send that link from the admin control panel.

Before you start: it's recommended to have the user install the mobile app before you send the pairing email.

  1. Log in

    Sign in to the control panel.

  2. Search for the user

    Go to "Manage Users" → "Search Users" or "Search Admins."

  3. Find the account

    Enter the user or admin's info and click "Search."

  4. Send the pairing link

    Locate the account and click the "Pair" button (blue icon).

  5. Email is sent

    Spriv sends a unique 32-bit URL to the user's email.

  6. User installs the app

    They install it from Google Play or the Apple Store.

  7. User completes pairing

    They open the email on their phone and click the unique URL.

  8. Confirmation

    On success, a push notification confirms the pairing.

Single use: the pairing link is a unique 32-bit string that allows pairing only once. If the same pairing string is used twice, the system shows "Invalid pairing code."
